# # Comment : Set in the neon-soaked underground of 1980 's Miami, this top-down shooter is a surreal tale of blood, guns, and masks. Focusing on raw brutality and skull-crushing close combat, the game forces players to use their wits to choreograph their way out of impossible situations. It is being developed by Dennaton, a collaboration between designer Jonatan Soderstrom and artist Dennis Wedin.

Hotline Miami is slated to contain over 20 multiscreen levels and feature 35 unique weapons. It also boasts different masks, which alter the gameplay and provide fresh challenges.

The entire game takes place from an overhead view and takes control of a currently unnamed anti-hero who commits brutal acts of violence inside the criminal underground circles at the request of messages left on his home's answering machine.

The gameplay takes place over a course of 20 levels whereupon it is required to eliminate a target within the building (along with just about everyone else who gets in your way.) Enemy goons patrol from room to room or are preoccupied with tasks. Considering how fast the actions moves and how easy it is to get yourself killed the challenge comes from taking out the goons within a certain order and flow.

The goons are often equipped with a variety of deadly weapons ranging from lead pipes, katanas, shotguns and rifles. Fortunately, you're free to use these weapons and clever and resourceful use of them in the right situation is key to finishing the level.

Before starting a level you can choose from a number of animal masks that hide your identity as well as tweaking the gameplay allowing for different and interesting challenges.
